My mom and I spent last summer working on our upcoming book: Detox Juicing. We created over a hundred juice and smoothie recipes in just a few weeks, and learned the healing and cleansing properties of dozens of fruits, vegetables, and herbs. We also learned that spring is the best time of the year to do a cleanse. Simply put, the urge many people feel of cleaning the house and closets during this season is just an outward expression of the body’s desire to get rid of what it doesn’t need anymore, and start anew. So why not give it a little push in the right direction? Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup green tea, at room temperature
  • 1/2 cup zucchini, finely chopped
  • 1/2 cup parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 cup pineapple, finely chopped
  • Juice of 1/2 lemon

Directions

  • 1
    Put all the ingredients in a blender and process until smooth.

    Serve immediately.

Expert Tips

  • tip 1
    You can pass your smoothie through a strainer before serving if you don’t want any big chunks of fruits or veggies left in it.
  • tip 2
    You can replace the parsley with cilantro (they are both incredibly detoxifying).
  • tip 3
    You can also replace the pineapple with any other fruit, or with a banana for a creamier result.
