My family gets very excited during sports season. They all have ideas on how to have more fun when we get together with friends and family to enjoy a good game. I come from a family of sports fans, which is why I love taking advantage of the season to get together and delight them with recipes I’ve made with love for the occasion. It doesn't matter which team they cheer for, whether they win or lose... my food is the winning favorite of the day! When it comes to paying attention to a game, without missing a play, it’s better to offer your guests a variety of easy-to-make dishes that can be eaten without having to sit at the table. We celebrate the triumph of being together to witness an amazing and unforgettable game, with a delicious tray of chicken wings. Finger licking good!

Ingredients

  • 4 lbs chicken wings
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 small onion chopped into little chunks
  • 1 teaspoon red chili pepper seeds
  • 5 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • 1 cup tomato sauce (ketchup)
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup guava paste
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds
  • Cooking salt and pepper to taste

Directions

  • 1
Preheat the oven to 400 °F.
  • 2
Wash chicken wings with water and dry them with paper towel.
  • 3
Season the chicken wings with cooking salt and pepper to taste. Place chicken wings on a baking tray, preferably on metal grill, so fat drains to the bottom. Bake for approximately 45 minutes, until golden brown.
  • 4
In a medium saucepan, melt the butter at medium heat and sauté the onions, garlic and red chilli pepper seeds; once onion is translucent, add tomato and Worcestershire sauces, then stir constantly for approximately 5 minutes.
  • 5
Remove from heat and add guava paste (previously melted) and honey.
  • 6
Place baked wings in a deep container. Add sauce and stir with a wooden spoon until wings are completely covered.
  • 7
Serve on a tray and sprinkle sesame seeds as a garnish.
