I love to make birthdays memorable with details. This year we celebrated my husband’s birthday with some really fun baked doughnuts. Because we love to enjoy our daily cup of afternoon coffee, I thought we could turn it into a fun birthday event with some colorful and festive baked doughnuts. Baked with Betty Crocker™ Yellow Cake Mix, the doughnuts were ready in less than 30 minutes with ease and no fuss.

Ingredients

  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Fluffy White Frosting
  • Nonpareils, to taste

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • 2
    Spray a doughnut baking tray with non-stick cooking spray. Set aside.

    In a large bowl, whisk cake mix, water, oil and eggs until all ingredients have combined and mixture is smooth.

    Pour 1/3 cup into each doughnut cavity and bake for 15 minutes until golden brown. Remove and let doughnuts cool for 10 minutes in the pan then transfer to a wire rack. If your doughnut pan makes 6 doughnuts at a time, wash and spray pan with non-stick cooking spray and bake the second batch. Repeat with third batch.

    Frost top half of doughnut with frosting and immediately decorate with nonpareils. Let the frosting set for 10 minutes and serve.
