Chocolate Cajeta Dump Cake

My neighbor makes this cake for her husband every year for his birthday. Year after year, I ask her for the recipe and this year she finally caved in. I was surprised to see how easy this delicious cake is to make! Try it out for yourself.

Ingredients

  • 1 (3.9-oz) instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ dark chocolate cake mix
  • 1 cup cajeta
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows

Directions

    Pre-heat oven to 350 °F. Grease a 9x13-inch cake pan or 12 individual mini cake pans.

    Prepare pudding mix as directed on package, add cake mix. Mix well until the batter gets thick.

    Spoon batter into pan. Dollop cajeta over batter and sprinkle with marshmallows.

    Bake for 30 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean (for 9x13 pan).

    Bake for 15-18 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean (for individual pans).
  • 6
    Garnish with cajeta and marshmallows and serve.

  • If your local store does not sell cajeta, you can substitute it with dulce de leche.
  • Experiment with your favorite flavors by adding chopped nuts, shredded coconut or chocolate chips.
