Valentine’s Day is a time set aside to celebrate your love for that someone special in your life. Many people go out to dinner to celebrate, I prefer to make a nice romantic meal at home. There’s just something about cooking a meal for your loved one that resonates with me. Nothing says “I Love You”, quite like a home-cooked meal! But don’t just stop with the meal, you need a romantic beverage to go along with that plate of food. Instead of giving a bouquet of roses to your sweetie, why not use those roses to create this sexy and romantic Sangria! Ingredients

  • 1 bottle (0.750 l) red wine
  • 1 /2 bottle (0. 375 l) brandy or cognac
  • 3/4 cup orange juice
  • 3 /4 cup grapefruit juice
  • 3/4 cup cranberry juice
  • 4 limes
  • 1 cup chopped apple
  • 1 cup chopped orange segments
  • 1 cup chopped cantaloupe
  • 1 cup chopped strawberries
  • 1 cup rose petals

Directions

    In punch bowl, combine wine, brandy or cognac, orange juice, grapefruit juice and cranberry juice.

    Slice 3 limes in half and squeeze the juice into punch bowl.

    Cut remaining lime in slices, and add them to the bowl.

    Stir in apple, orange, cantaloupe, strawberries and rose petals to sangria.

    Pour yourself a glass … Happy Valentine’s Day!
