March 17, St. Patrick's Day, is almost here. This day of celebration originated in Ireland, but each passing year it seems to become more and more popular in other parts of the world. We're already starting to see all kinds of green things, from cocktails to jewelry and decorations. If you're planning to celebrate with friends or just want to enjoy a little piece of St. Patty's Day festivities, this cocktail is a delicious option.

Ingredients

  • Sugar to taste
  • 1 oz Irish whisky
  • Freshly made coffee (double)
  • Whipped cream, to taste

Directions

  • 1
    Add a bit of sugar to the whisky and heat it up in a pot almost to a boil. This will thicken it and keep it from mixing in with the coffee.

    Make a double coffee as you normally would.
  • 3
    Fill a 1/3 of a cup (or glass) with the prepared whisky. Pour the coffee little by little. Top with whipped cream. Serve immediately.

    You can decorate the cocktail with a cloverleaf or green sprinkles.
