Apples are fall’s most popular fruit. From pies, sauces, even juices, apples can be used to prepare many delicious dishes. This nourishing fruit has a special place on the table in many homes during the holidays. One of my favorite ways to enjoy them is with caramel. To mix it up and give the famous caramel apple on a stick a crunchy twist, I garnished with granola crumble. The best part of this recipe is that you can prepare it in batches: store it in re-sealable bags and enjoy them as a snack anytime! MORE + LESS -

Ingredients

oz caramel candies

teaspoon water

red apples

lemon

bars Nature Valley™ granola bars, crushed

Directions

    Add the caramel candies and water to a pot. Cook over low heat until all the caramel has melted. Stir continuously.

    Slice the apples in half. Remove the seeds with a spoon. Squeeze the lemon and pour the juice over each apple to prevent them from browning. Let rest for a few minutes.

    Spread caramel over each apple and sprinkle with the granola crumble.

    Let cool and refrigerate.

    Serve, and enjoy!

Expert Tips

  • For a softer caramel, swap the water out for milk.
