Expert Tips

I recommend eating the salad the same day it's made to enjoy the freshness.

Many times we find ourselves looking for ways to satisfy our hunger without giving into temptation (and then feeling guilty). This recipe for jicama salad with strawberries and avocado is the perfect solution for these moments. It allows you to eat something delicious without feeling guilt once you’re done. Enjoy a mixture of strawberries with jicama strips, pieces of cheese, avocado, strawberries and a delicious dressing. Good enough to prepare time and time again!

Directions

  • 1 Peel the jicama and cut it in half. Cut one of the halves into thin slices, and then cut the slices into small strips. Set aside.
  • 2 Remove the leaves from the strawberries and cut into thin slices.
  • 3 To make the dressing, mix the orange juice with the balsamic vinegar, honey, olive oil and salt to taste.
  • 4 Combine the jicama, strawberries, cheese and avocado in a salad bowl.
  • 5 Pour dressing over the salad and serve immediately.
