Pupusas revueltas are a typical Salvadorian meal. For many families, it’s common to go to a pupuseria weekly or even daily, and these visits are always accompanied by the magical charm that comes from eating a delicious pupusa revuelta.
To prepare a delicious pupusa, as it ought to be done, you have to use refried beans, quesillo cheese and chicharrón (fried pork rinds). You always serve them with the typical curtido and the exquisite red sauce you can always find at Salvadorian restaurants. The “sauce” is really easy to make, and you only need tomatoes, onion, and dried oregano.
This sauce can be kept in the refrigerator for three or four days, which means you can cook a portion of sauce and store it so you can use it several times.
