package (11 1/2 ounces) milk chocolate chips (2 cups)

cup half-and-half

tablespoons orange-flavored liqueur, kirsch, brandy or half-and-half

Dippers

Angel food cake cubes
Brownie cubes
Kiwifruit pieces
Mandarin orange segments
Maraschino cherries
Marshmallows
Miniature cream puffs
Pound cake cubes
Pretzels
Strawberries
Vanilla wafer cookies

    Heat chocolate chips and half-and-half in heavy 2-quart saucepan over low heat, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted and mixture is smooth; remove from heat. Stir in liqueur. Pour into fondue pot or chafing dish.

    Spear Dippers with fondue forks, and dip into fondue. (If fondue becomes too thick, stir in a small amount of half-and-half.)

Expert Tips

  • Use purchased pound cake, brownies, angel food cake and miniature cream puffs. Ask the kids to cut the cakes and brownies into cubes.
  • If you are a lover of dark chocolate, you can substitute semisweet chocolate chips or sweet cooking chocolate for the milk chocolate chips in this recipe.
