Babies are the most beautiful and delicate beings on the planet. Our job as mothers is caring for them and feeding them nutritious foods so they grow up to be healthy. I’m a mother to three daughters and thanks to my mother’s help, I learned to make their baby food when they were born. This is why I feel confident and secure in sharing this delicious apple and yogurt recipe for your baby. Baby food is wholesome and easy to digest, and apple is the most recommended ingredient when it comes to making homemade baby food.

Ingredients

  • 1 golden apple
  • 1/4 cup of formula milk
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence (or 1 piece of vanilla)
  • 2 tablespoons of Yoplait® original yogurt

Directions

  • 1
Wash the apple thoroughly and peel it carefully so as not to destroy the part you'll need for the recipe. Remove the middle part with the seeds and chop the apple into pieces approximately 1/3-inch in size.
  • 2
Place the apple pieces, milk and vanilla in a pot over low heat without letting it boil, approximately 15 minutes or until the apple is soft.
  • 3
Remove from the heat and let cool. Use a food processor or blender to break down the apple mixture, blend until it has the smooth consistency of baby food. Mix with yogurt and serve.

Expert Tips

  • tip 1
Once you peel the apple you should begin the recipe immediately to prevent the apple from oxidizing.
  • tip 2
After consulting your pediatrician, you can use almond or oat milk. If you don’t want to use milk, you can use water.
  • tip 3
You can use a cinnamon stick instead of vanilla. Remove before blending.
  • tip 4
If you want to use different fruits, consult your pediatrician to make sure they are appropriate for babies.
  • tip 5
After consulting your pediatrician, add a bit of sugar if you like.
