Expert Tips

Even though it may be difficult, it's important to let these cookies cool a few minutes before removing them from the cookie sheets. Otherwise they may break into pieces.

Directions

  • 1 Heat the oven to 375°F. Place the butter and sugar in a large bowl. Beat with an electric mixer on medium speed until blended. Beat in the oil, vanilla and eggs until well combined. On low speed, beat in the flour, oats, baking soda and salt until a dough forms. With a spoon, stir in the cereal.
  • 2 For each cookie, roll 1/3 cup of the dough into a ball. Place the balls 2 inches apart onto 2 ungreased cookie sheets.
  • 3 Bake 9 to 11 minutes or until the cookies are light brown. Cool the cookies for 2 minutes on the cookie sheets. Then, remove them from the cookie sheets and place on wire racks. Cool completely, about 20 minutes. Store the cookies in a tightly covered container.
