Expert Tips

For extra-flavorful chicken, season with garlic and leave refrigerated overnight or for at least two hours.

Today I’d like to share with you a magnificent chicken recipe; it’s simple and easy to make but deliciosa. I usually prepare this meal using chicken drumsticks but you can use whichever part of the chicken you prefer. If you have a busy schedule, then this is perfect as you will achieve a delicious result with few ingredients. I’m all for easy cooking, but it’s very helpful to have on hand a few key ingredients that can take a simple preparation to another level. To really give this recipe a special toquecito, prepare the sauce with guava marmalade and the chicken drumsticks will be extra tasty. I hope you enjoy my recipe for guava chicken- the sweet and spicy sauce is finger-licking good!

Directions

  • 1 For the sauce, heat the oil in a pot and sauté the onions until they begin to turn golden-brown. Add the rest of the ingredients (except the chicken drumsticks) and cook the mixture until it boils.
  • 2 Next, reduce the heat and simmer for 10 more minutes, stirring once in a while. Strain the sauce before using with the chicken.
  • 3 Heat the oven to 400°. Salt the chicken to taste and broil for 20 to 25 minutes.
  • 4 When 25 minutes have passed, coat the chicken with the guava sauce for one to two minutes to let the flavor to soak in.
  • 5 Return to the oven at the same temperature for 20 more minutes. When finished, cover with the remaining sauce and serve.
