The guava is a sweet and aromatic tropical fruit that can be used to make desserts, sweets, juices, and concentrates for dips in some Caribbean recipes. However, I enjoy it most as a syrup or paste. Today I’d like to share my family recipe for guava casquitos so that you may prepare it and offer this sweet treat to your loved ones. This dessert is a great way to surprise your family and a wonderful addition to your recipe collection. Enjoy it with fresh cheese or cream cheese and maybe one day you can pass this recipe down from this generation to the next.

You can substitute the lemon juice for orange juice and if you cannot get guavas, use quinces to replace them.
