Expert Tips

The blueberries used in this recipe are fresh, but if you only have access to frozen just mix them with the sugar without defrosting.

Directions

  • 1 For the frosting: Mix the powdered sugar with the cream and lime juice until soft. Set aside.
  • 2 Preheat the oven to 350°F. Melt 3 tablespoons of butter in the base of a round baking dish.
  • 3 Unroll the dough to create one large sheet and seal the perforations with your fingertips. Cover in the rest of the softened butter.
  • 4 Mix the sugar and blueberries in a bowl and spread over the buttered dough. Roll the dough until you have one large roll and cut into 8 pieces. Place the rolls in the buttered baking dish and bake for 18 minutes. Cover in frosting and serve.

Prepare these sweet rolls when fresh blueberries are in season, from the beginning of spring to the end of summer. We all know how important fruits are when feeding our children a balanced diet, but sometimes it can be difficult to get our children to eat fresh fruits. One way to prepare fruit in a way our children will love is by transforming them into an attractive, simple and delicious treat like these sweet rolls. They won't be able to resist! These rolls are very easy to make and can be prepared with any fruit they prefer, like sliced strawberries or pieces of peach.
