Ingredients

tablespoons sunflower oil

small onion, chopped

cloves of garlic, minced

cups chicken broth
1 1/2
cup basmati rice
1/4
cup dried cranberries
1/4
cup pine nuts
1/4
cup golden raisins
1/2
teaspoon saffron seasoning
Salt to taste

    Heat the oil in a skillet.

    Sauté the onion over low heat until it’s caramelized.
  • 3
    Stir occasionally to prevent burning.
  • 4
    Add the garlic and sauté for 2 minutes.
  • 5
    Add the chicken broth and rice.
  • 6
    When the broth starts to reduce, add the nuts and saffron.
  • 7
    Cover the pan and cook over low heat for 20 minutes, or until rice is well cooked.

Expert Tips

  • You can substitute cranberries for apricots or other dried fruits.
  • You can use saffron, but if you don't have any you can also use seasoning with saffron.
