Ingredients

  • 1 cup apple juice
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon lemon zest
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 3 cloves
  • 1 cup Cascadian Farm™ frozen organic blueberries
  • 1 cup Cascadian Farm™ organic frozen strawberries
  • 1 pastel Angel food cake
  • Whipped topping, to taste

Directions

  • 1
    Place apple juice, water, lemon zest, lemon juice, sugar and ground cinnamon in a saucepan and simmer until sugar is completely dissolved.

    Remove from heat and add cloves and frozen fruit. Return to heat and bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat. Simmer until fruit is tender, about 5 minutes.

    Serve warm over slices of angel food cake and top with whipped topping.
