This grapefruit, strawberry and hemp seed smoothie is an excellent way to start the day off on the right foot. I’ve slowly become a huge fan of breakfast smoothies, since they take just a few minutes to whip up, combining multiple ingredients in one glass. But smoothies aren’t just for breakfast! They’re also perfect for afterschool snacks. Try this recipe for yourself; you and your kiddos will love it!

Ingredients

  • 1 grapefruit, peeled and cut in sections and seeded
  • 1 cup strawberries, washed and stemmed
  • 1/2 cup Yoplait® Greek strawberry yogurt
  • 1/2 apple, chopped and seeded
  • 2 tablespoons hemp seeds
  • 1/2 cup water
  • Honey or agave nectar to sweeten, to taste

Directions

  • 1
    Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend on high until fully incorporated.

    Serve the smoothie in 2 cups and enjoy.

  • For a different taste, swap out strawberries for blueberries or blackberries. Look for hemp seeds in organic or natural food stores.
