Surprise your family with the delicious aroma of freshly baked bread at home. It’s so easy to prepare and the results are amazing. Don’t think you have time to knead dough? In my home, we use Pillsbury™ French bread and the results are always great. All that’s left to do is bake, and if you have a bit of extra time to experiment, try incorporating some dried fruit and walnuts into the dough. Even seeds, such as sunflower or flax seed work well also.

Ingredients

  • 1 can (11 oz) refrigerated Pillsbury™ Original French Bread
  • 1 package (5 ozs) dried fruit with walnuts
  • 1/4 cup dried apricots

Directions

  • 1
Pre-heat the oven to 350°F and dress a baking sheet with spray-oil.
  • 2
Open the package of pre-made dough and unroll carefully. Place the dough over the baking sheet and cut open the middle (length-wise) using a sharp knife.
  • 3
Using a rolling-pin, roll the dough out and sprinkle the dried fruit and walnuts evenly over the surface. Then ‘roll-up’ the dough from the largest to smallest side.
  • 4
Bake for 26 to 30 minutes or until the bread begins to turn golden-brown.
  • 5
Remove from heat and let cool over a wire rack for five minutes. Serve and enjoy.

You can also switch the dried fruit and walnuts for chocolate chips or other ingredients like cheddar cheese, mozzarella, ham, black olives or mushrooms.
