Expert Tips

You can also use bacon that has been pre-cut and –cooked.

Try other combinations of vegetables; it will give your salad a different taste.

Directions

  • 1 Preheat the oven to 400°F. Place the bacon on a backing sheet in the oven.
  • 2 Bake for 15-20 minutes. I like my bacon crispy so I let it cook for 20 minutes.
  • 3 Transfer the bacon to a plate lined with absorbent paper towel. Cut into pieces once cool.
  • 4 While the bacon is cooking, prepare the vegetables according to the instructions on the microwavable package.
  • 5 Mix together the cold rice, bag of vegetables and sauce, and almost all the bacon in a bowl. Stir well and add fresh chopped basil or chives.
  • 6 Taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary.
  • 7 Serve at room temperature and decorate with fresh herbs and the rest of the bacon.
