Expert Tips

Check ahead that your freezer is functioning well or lower your freezer’s temperature to freeze the popsicles quicker.

I love margarita cocktails made with fresh fruit. Since frozen paletas or popsicles with liquor have become all the rage at parties, I would like to share my special margarita recipe with you all. These margarita popsicles are a modern take on the cocktail classic, easy to prepare, and will surely be a hit at your next get-together with friends. Let’s get cooking!

If you prefer an alcohol-free version, simply omit the tequila in the recipe.

* For a homemade mix, combine 1 cup lemon juice, 1/2 cup simple syrup and 1/2 cup water.

Directions

  • 1 Add all the ingredients except the blackberries in a blender and mix until well blended.
  • 2 Pour the mixture into the plastic cups and drop in four blackberries per cup. Store in the freezer and wait 30 to 45 minutes until the cups begin to freeze. Then insert one wooden popsicle stick into each cup.
  • 3 Continue to freeze for two and a half hours more until the popsicles are completely frozen. You can serve the popsicles directly, still in their cups, or remove and present in glass dishes for extra effect.
