Expert Tips

You can leave out the walnuts if you like. The dessert is still great without them. You can also drizzle a little chocolate syrup over the dessert; kids like that!

I’m a big fan of no-bake desserts, especially in the summer time, when you don’t want to heat up the kitchen by turning on the oven. I have several recipes that I go to time and time again, and this is one of them. This easy, no-bake dessert is always a big hit when I take it to pot-lucks or family fiestas! Everyone always asks me for the recipe. Let me warn you right now, you cannot eat just one serving of this sweet treat. It is so delicious the flavors explode in your mouth. One bite of Banana Split Dessert and you’ll be saying the same thing my little one says when he eats it: “There’s a party in my tummy!” Make some for your family and let me know what they think of it.

Directions

  • 1 Mix crumbs, 1/4 cup sugar and melted butter together. Press onto the bottom of a 13x9 inch pan. Place pan in the freezer and freeze for 10 minutes.
  • 2 With electric mixer, beat cream cheese and remaining sugar with mixer until creamy. Carefully spread mixture over the crust, and top with the pineapple. Slice up 3 of the bananas and arrange the slices over the pineapple.
  • 3 Beat pudding mixes and cold milk with a whisk or mixer for 2 minutes, until it is well blended. Stir in 1 cup of the whipped topping with spatula. Spread the mixture over the layer of bananas. Add rest of whipped topping and spread evenly. Place pan in refrigerator for 5 hours. Slice the last 2 bananas right before serving. Place the slices on top of each serving of dessert as you serve it. Top with walnuts.
