Expert Tips

Pour a bunch of marshmallows on the table or counter and have your child figure out how many fit in one cup.

Directions

  • 1 Spray the bottom and the sides of a 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray.
  • 2 Place the butter and marshmallows in a large microwavable bowl. Microwave uncovered on High for about 2 minutes, stirring after each minute, until the mixture is smooth. With pot holders, remove the bowl from the microwave.
  • 3 Immediately stir in the cereal until it is evenly coated. Pour the cereal mixture into the pan. With the buttered back of a spoon, press the mixture in the pan until it is even. Cool at least 10 minutes.
  • 4 With a table knife, cut the cereal mixture into 6 rows by 4 rows to make 24 bars. Store the bars in a loosely covered container.
