I come from a large family, on my mom’s side, and all my aunts do a lot of cooking, each having her own specialty. My mom is not as crazy about cooking as they are, but the good thing is that, in spite of this, I learned a lot and tried many tasty foods as a result of my family’s cooking expertise.
I have very good memories of Mother’s Day celebrations as a child. My family used to get together at my grandmother’s house, and since we were such a big family, there were many moms to honor.
When spring arrives so nice and colorful, we want to feel the same ambiance inside our homes as well. That’s why we many times fill and decorate the house with centerpieces made of flower or fruit arrangements.
Children love creating art and feeling productive, so instead of giving them paper to draw on (which is what I usually do), I often come up with a new activity so they can create something more useful to give as a gift or keep for themselves.
Plate painting is a very useful craft project for everyone at home. I decided to paint bowls because it’s what we mostly use in my house, whether it’s for cereals, soups, a mix of rice and beans, a salad or, well… a thousand other things! They’re a life saver!
