After decorating the Christmas tree there’s nothing better than setting the Nativity in a special place next the Three Wise Man and adding the Star of David as the final touch. Sharing time with family and being close to our loved ones is wonderful and important. It’s also important to have delicious appetizers and snacks for the kids. I love preparing empanadas with pear jam because they’re super easy to prepare. MORE + LESS -

Ingredients

can Pillsbury™ Grands!™ Homestyle Butter Tastin'™ refrigerated biscuits
1/2
cup canned pear jam
1
egg, beaten
1
tablespoon sugar
1/2
teaspoon cinnamon

    Open the can of Grands!™ and separate the biscuits. Use your hands to create a small tortilla. Fill the center with the pear jam and seat to create an empanada. Do this with the rest of the biscuits and place each em-panda in a baking dish lined with parchment paper.

    Paint the surface of each empanada in the whipped egg and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon. Bake the empanadas at 375°F for 30 to 40 minutes until they’ve browned and the dough it cooked.

    Take them out of the oven and place them on a dish. Serve the empanadas warm with atole or hot chocolate.

Expert Tips

  • You can use any kind of jam you like. You could even use chocolate spread or vanilla frosting.
