Expert Tips

Prepare the parfaits just before you’re ready to eat them.

During the summer I like to plan trips outdoors with my family. Sometimes we have picnics at the park, the beach and on our patio. The idea is for us to feel a bit free and breathe the open air. For these occasions I prepare simple, fun, nutritious and easy to digest since we usually ride bikes or play a sport. The idea is to have a good time. You can always find yogurt parfaits and Nature Valley™ granola bars in my picnic basket; my kids love them because they’re crunchy, varied and delicious. I add a few fresh fruits and a touch of love to create east and quickly made snacks. Try this recipe for your next family picnic and enjoy!

Take the fruits in plastic bags ready to use. Seal well and keep in a cool place to keep the cold and fresh.

Also be sure that the yogurts are sealed and in a cool spot.

Directions

  • 1 Place the granola bars in clear plastic bag with a seal, remove the air and crush with a cooking hammer or with your hands until you have small pieces.
  • 2 Place the crushed bars in individual cups in equal portions, set a little aside to decorate.
  • 3 Add approximately 2 ounces of yogurt to the middle of each cup and then pieces of strawberries on top.
  • 4 Finally, add the rest of the granola to decorate.
