Expert Tips

You can also serve them fresh and warm with a scoop of ice cream.

I love brownies. Who doesn’t, right? I remember some years ago I’d invite a few of my closest girlfriends over to my place to have brownie-making parties. It was a great way to bond with my girls. I recently discovered a way to make my brownies whole grain, without compromising their rich flavor. These guilt-free brownies let you satisfy your chocolate-loving side without feeling remorseful.

Directions

  • 1 Preheat oven to 350 °F. Spray an 8x8 inch baking pan with non-stick baking spray. Set aside.
  • 2 In a mixer, add butter and sugar. Cream until sugar dissolves and is no longer grainy in consistency, for about 5 minutes. Add vanilla extract and eggs, and mix to combine.
  • 3 In a small bowl, sift the cocoa, baking powder, and flour. Add the dry powder mix to wet ingredients until fully incorporated.
  • 4 Add the chocolate chips. Spread the mixture into baking pan and bake for 30 minutes. Remove from oven and cool completely before slicing and serving. Enjoy!
