White Cheese and Jalapeño Dip

Summertime is all about get-togethers with family and friends. And, of course, every gathering should have delicious food to share. But in my case, whatever I prepare should not only taste good, but also be easy and budget-friendly to whip up. This white cheese and jalapeño dip fits the bill perfectly. Also, I assure you the flavor will delight everyone you invite. Serve with Totino’s™ Pizza Rolls, chips or slices of French bread. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 8 oz white cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 jalapeño, seeded and diced
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Kosher salt (1/2 teaspoon of regular salt)

Directions

    Place all the ingredients in a small pot. Warm over medium heat for about 5 minutes, or until the cheese has melted and all the ingredients are fully incorporated. Taste and adjust seasoning, adding more salt and pepper, to taste, if necessary.

    Transfer the dip to a serving dish and serve immediately.

Expert Tips

    As the dip cools it will thicken. Add some milk to thin out until of the desired texture.

    Refrigerate, and reheat in the microwave when ready to serve.
