Expert Tips

In medium microwavable bowl, mix 1 cup cinnamon and spice apple pie filling with more fruit (from 21-oz can) and 1 cup maple-flavored syrup. Microwave uncovered on High 2 to 3 minutes or until warm. Set aside.

In 1 1/2-quart saucepan, mix 1/4 cup sugar, 1 1/2 teaspoons cornstarch, 2 tablespoons orange juice and 1/4 teaspoon grated orange peel until smooth. Stir in 2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries. Heat to boiling over medium heat, stirring constantly. Boil about 2 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened. Keep warm.

In chilled medium bowl, beat 1 cup whipping cream and 1/4 cup powdered sugar with electric mixer on high speed until stiff. Fold in 2 cups sliced fresh or 1 box (10-oz) frozen (thawed, drained) strawberries and 1/2 cup fresh or frozen (thawed, drained) blueberries.

Directions

  • 1 Make desired topping or toppings for waffles as directed below.
  • 2 To make waffles, heat Belgian or regular waffle maker. (Waffle makers without a nonstick coating may need to be brushed with vegetable oil or sprayed with cooking spray.)
  • 3 In small bowl, beat eggs with electric mixer on high speed about 3 minutes or until thick and lemon colored. Stir in milk. On low speed, beat in Bisquick mix and sugar until smooth. Gently fold in oil.
  • 4 Pour batter by slightly less than cupfuls onto center of hot waffle maker. (Check manufacturer's directions for recommended amount of batter.) Close lid of waffle maker. Bake about 5 minutes or until steaming stops. Carefully remove waffle. Top with topping.
