During Lent season, fish dishes play a big role. A delicious way to prepare fish is with this tilapia in cilantro sauce recipe. It’s super easy, fast to prepare and it will sure surprise everyone. A big plus of preparing this dish is that it doesn’t require many ingredients and so it’s a great economical option. Serve it with white rice or potatoes to make the most of the rich sauce.

Ingredients

  • 5 tilapia fillets
  • 1/2 teaspoon canola oil
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup cilantro

Directions

    Cut tilapia fillets into large cubes. Season with salt and pepper.

    Heat a frying pan on medium heat, add oil and garlic.

    Add cubes of tilapia, in batched, to frying pan and brown for 3 to 5 minutes.

    Set aside.

    In a blender, blend heavy cream and cilantro.

    Pour cilantro sauce into the same frying pan where you browned the tilapia and heat for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes.

    Serve tilapia and add sauce on top.

    You can use cod instead of tilapia, but cook it less time because it is more delicate.
