Expert Tips

You can replace the tilapia with hake, sea bass or trout, as long as the filets are completely boneless.

Sometimes we want to spoil our family with a delicious dish without sacrificing too much of our precious time. On days like this, these tilapia filets with mandarin sauce are a great option. The citric flavor of the sauce is so good that they'll ask you to prepare it time and time again; even kids who don't usually like seafood will enjoy this dish. You’ll be surprised at how easy it is to prepare these filets, but you'll be even more surprised at how much your guests love it!

Serve with a side of French fries or white rice to get the most out of the sauce.

Directions

  • 1 To marinate the fish, cover the filets with 2 tablespoons of mandarin juice and then season with salt and pepper.
  • 2 Cover the container and let sit for about 10 minutes.
  • 3 Melt 1 tablespoon of butter in a saucepan and sauté the filets.
  • 4 Remove the fish from the saucepan and add the rest of the butter to be melted.
  • 5 Add the flour little by little, but constantly mix.
  • 6 Add the rest of the mandarin juice, the wine and season with salt/pepper to taste.
  • 7 Mix all the ingredients well until the sauce has an even consistency.
  • 8 To serve, place the tilapia on a dish and cover with mandarin sauce.
  • 9 Serve immediately.
