Expert Tips

Use fresh and organic products.

Smoothies and juices are very popular right now, but they’re more than a trend. They’re the perfect way to get your daily intake of necessary fruits and vegetables. Additionally, they make it easier to digest those nutrients. I would like to share one of my favorite smoothie recipes. It has the added benefit of being popular with the kids, it’s a great way to get them to eat their fruits and veggies!

Use frozen fruits to give the smoothie an ice cream texture.

Use Greek yogurt instead of almond or coconut milk.

For a super nutritious smoothie, don’t process the ingredients for more than 90 seconds.

Directions

  • 1 In a blender, add water (or water and milk) and the rest of the ingredients. Blend until you have a soft homogenous mixture. Add more water or milk if you need to adjust the consistency. Serve with a few pieces of chocolate or shredded coconut as garnish.
