Expert Tips

If you want you can add mayo or hot sauce once the waffles are stuffed.

I love stuffed pita bread. I also love waffles. It occurred to me to combine these two and see what comes out. Instead of using traditional pita bread I decided to experiment a little and use waffles in the recipe. This recipe is very easy to prepare and can be enjoyed any day of the week. You can use any kind of filling or ground meat, whatever you prefer. The possibilities are endless. I opted to use ground turkey meat. You can also fill it with chicken or beef. I hope you like it!

Directions

  • 1 Heat a bit of oil in a saucepan and cook the scallion, carrots and finely chopped pepper.
  • 2 When they begin to cook a bit add, the ground meat. Mix everything well so that the meat will begin to absorb the flavor from the vegetables. Let the meat cook for a few minutes until it’s ready. Season the mix to taste.
  • 3 Place the cleaned, peeled and diced tomatoes in a separate containers, add the chopped parsley, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper.
  • 4 Heat the waffles, open them and fill them with as much ground meat and tomato salad as you like.
