Expert Tips

To skip step one, use strawberry concentrate instead of fresh fruit.

Holidays here are few and far between in comparison to those of my home country, where there are at least two each month. This is why when we approach a holiday like Memorial Day we all make plans. This is the time when we travel, relax and/or get together with family. This year we’ve decided to get together by the pool to avoid the traffic and crowds. The event will be held at my in-laws’ house and they will be in charge of food. My family will bring the desserts and I’m in charge of preparing the cocktails. Inspired by one of the more famous restaurants in California, I decided to create a refreshing beverage that adults will love. This cocktail needs only a few ingredients and its taste is refreshing and delicious.

Directions

  • 1 Run the strawberries through a food processor until it forms a purée. Add the sugar little by little and taste it until you have achieved the desired sweetness.
  • 2 Add the lemon juice, purée and the rest of the ingredients to a cocktail shaker. Mix well. Serve in clear glasses with a lot of ice and decorate to taste.
