Expert Tips

Today I added spinach, mozzarella cheese and Monterey Jack, but it’s just one idea. If you don’t like it you can add other cheeses or use bacon instead of shrimp.

This pizza has won me over with its simplicity and flavor, the combination of spin-ach and garlic with the different cheeses is delicious. I definitely recommend it and invite you to prepare this tasty pizza as an appetizer when you have guests or for lunch during the week, like we did. There are kids that don’t eat green vegetables, so I kept them in mind when prepar-ing this pizza as a way to get them to enjoy eating spinach. Hopefully they’ll be tempted to try it because with kids it’s always a little tricky. To save time I prepared this spinach, garlic and shrimp pizza using Pillsbury™ ready-to-bake pizza dough. Just add the toppings and set in the oven!

Directions

  • 1 Preheat oven to 400°F. Apply cooking spray to a baking sheet (nonstick and 15x10 inches or larger).
  • 2 Unroll the dough on the tray. Divide the dough into 2 pieces on a greased surface.
  • 3 Top each piece of dough with mozzarella cheese, leaving half an inch on the edges. Arrange spinach, garlic and red pepper over mozzarella cheese. Sprinkle Monterey Jack cheese on top and then the shrimp.
  • 4 Bake the pizza about 15 minutes, or until cheese is melted and the shrimp are pink and cooked.
  • 5 Remove the pan from the oven and serve immediately.
