In my home, our Latin heritage is celebrated every day; ever since I’ve come to live in the U.S. and had children who are both Latino and from the States, I’ve wanted them to learn all about Latin cul-ture. Directions

  • 1 In a large bowl, combine all the ingredients required for the meatballs. Assemble the balls one by one and set aside.
  • 2 Pour the beef broth into a large pot and heat until the liquid reaches a boil. Afterward, add the meat-balls, cumin, salt and pepper.
  • 3 Cook for 20 minutes over medium heat before incorporating the carrots and potatoes. To finish, let simmer for 10 more minutes.
  • 4 Serve hot, garnished with some freshly chopped cilantro and a side of sliced avocado.
