Expert Tips

Progresso® chicken broth provides a simple addition to this pear-chorizo stuffing that’s baked to perfect golden brown hue – a delicious side dish.

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 350°F. Grease or spray 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish. In 12-inch skillet, cook chorizo over medium-high heat, stirring frequently, 6 to 8 minutes or until no longer pink. Measure drippings from pan; if necessary, add vegetable oil to measure total of 3 tablespoons. Add celery, onion, garlic, oregano and thyme; cook 3 to 4 minutes, stirring frequently, until slightly softened. Stir in pears to coat.
  • 2 Pour mixture into large bowl. Add broth to skillet; stir to loosen browned bits. Pour into bowl of chorizo mixture. Stir in cilantro, bread and pecans. Spoon into baking dish. Cover with aluminum foil.
  • 3 Bake 50 to 55 minutes or until brown. Remove foil; bake about 5 minutes longer or until golden brown.
