Expert Tips

You can add fresh, diced tomatoes and basil as garnish.

Now the temperature is rising and we're beginning to spend more time outdoors, the time I have to prepare dinner has been cut short. Keeping in mind that my children love Alfredo pasta, I decided to prepare this Tuscan cream pasta, a creamy and delicious sauce with a base of sundried tomatoes and basil. This is one of my favorite recipes, the preparation is quick and easy, it's an excellent vegetarian option and it's also incredibly tasty. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!

Directions

  • 1 In a medium saucepan or pot, melt the butter at medium heat. Add the garlic and cook for 2 minutes, stir constantly. Be careful not to let the garlic burn.
  • 2 Add the dry basil and cream cheese, stir until the mixture is soft. It will look congealed at first, but after 2-3 minutes it will become a soft and creamy sauce.
  • 3 Add the sundried tomatoes. Pour the milk in little by little, about 1/4 cup at a time, mixing quickly. Add the parmesan cheese, pepper and salt.
  • 4 Cook the sauce at low heat, stir until the cheese has melted and the sauce has the consistency you want; about 5-10 minutes.
  • 5 Serve hot over cooked pasta.
