Expert Tips

Use blueberries, raspberries or banana slices instead of strawberries.

For a variation of this dessert, fill the tartlets with dulce de leche or vanilla ice cream and drizzle with a sauce of chopped strawberries and mint leaves.

Directions

  • 1 Cut Nature Valley™ bars and crush them in a food processor until they have the consistency of oats. Combine crushed bars with sugar and melted butter.
  • 2 Divide the mix into 6 tartlet molds with removable bottoms, pressing firmly to create a crust. Freeze for 1 hour.
  • 3 Beat whipping cream with sugar and vanilla until it holds its shape. Refrigerate.
  • 4 Remove tartlets from freezer, remove from molds and fill with strawberries, cover with a layer of whipped cream and finish with a strawberry. Sprinkle with a few crumbs of crushed granola bars and powder sugar.
  • 5 Serve immediately.

This very easy-to-make dessert is synonymous with warm relaxing summer days. Strawberries and cream is a classic recipe in the world of sweets, but this time we’re using Nature Valley™ bars to create a dessert that is delicious and nutritious. The strawberries should be very fresh. You can cut them or leave them whole, if they’re not too big. As for the tartlets, you can make them in the normal size or smaller to create a mini or bite-size dessert. They will look really pretty on the table and everyone will love them. The great thing about this recipe is that you don’t need to use the oven, and that’s always a plus whenever the weather is so hot. You only need to freeze the base for the tartlets so they won’t fall apart when you assemble the dessert. Your family will love you a little more for making this dessert.
