Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of fresh cranberries
  • 1 bottle of Muscat wine or champagne
  • 2 prickly pears
  • Sugar and skewers to decorate

Directions

  • 1
The day before serving the drink, mix together the water and sugar in a small pot to marinate the cranberries.
  • 2
Cook at medium heat stirring until the water completely evaporates. It should be warm; do not bring to a boil. Add the cranberries and let cool. Refrigerate over night.
  • 3
Take out 12 cranberries and let sit for a bit, and then roll in the sugar until completely covered; allow to dry on a dish. Use 3 cranberries on each skewer (cut skewer to suit glass).
  • 4
Peel the prickly pears and, using a melon scoop, make 12 balls. Place 3 in each cup and about 6 marinated cranberries.
  • 5
Pour the Muscat on the fruits. Serve immediately. Cheers!

Expert Tips

  • tip 1
The cranberries can be prepared up to 3 days prior. Keep them refrigerated.
  • tip 2
You can use any white sparkling drink: Champagne, Prosecco, Muscat, etc.
