Ever since I moved to this country, I've learned to make many traditional American dishes, but I always give them my personal touch. One of my favorite dishes is macaroni and cheese, and I always make it for my Colombian friends whenever they come to visit. However, this is not your typical macaroni and cheese recipe. This time, I’m making mac and cheese muffins with a crunchy texture thanks to a few other ingredients.

Ingredients

  • 1 serving of Annie's™ Shells and Real Aged Cheddar Macaroni and Cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 cup Progresso™ Plain Bread Crumbs
  • 2 garlic cloves, finely chopped
  • Non-stick spray, as needed

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • 2
    Combine cheese, oil, bread crumbs and garlic, in a bowl. Mix well.

    Lightly grease a muffin tin.
  • 4
    Add a tablespoon of this mixture into each muffin mold to create a base.

    In the microwave, prepare the mac and cheese per the package instructions.

    Add a tablespoon of the prepared mac and cheese into each mold, over the base and top with another tablespoon of the cheese and crumbs mixture.

    Bake for 10 minutes or until the muffins start to brown.

    Serve warm.

    For another layer of flavor, add bacon to the macaroni.
