Ingredients

For cupcakes:

  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/3 cup milk

For frosting:

  • 1 package (8 ozs) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 4 cups powdered sugar, sifted

Directions

    Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • 2
    Line a cupcake pan with paper liners and set aside.

    In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt and nutmeg; set aside.

    With an electric mixer, cream the butter and brown sugar together until smooth; about 4 minutes.

    Add the eggs, vanilla extract and honey and beat until smooth.

    With the mixer on a low speed, slowly stir in the flour mixture until combined.

    Add the milk and stir until incorporated.

    Spoon batter into liners.

    Bake at 350°F for 15-16 minutes.

    Frosting: Beat cream cheese, butter and vanilla in large bowl with mixer until well blended.

    Add powdered sugar gradually, beating after each addition until well blended. Use to frost cupcakes.
