Expert Tips

You can prepare the powdered sugar in your kitchen by adding regular sugar to a blender and processing for about 5 seconds.

Directions

  • 1 Heat the oven to 350°F.
  • 2 Mix the flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, sugar and salt in a large bowl.
  • 3 Add the eggs little by little as well as the milk, butter and mashed pumpkin.
  • 4 You can mix with your hands or use a whisk.
  • 5 Pour the mixture into donut molds and bake for about 10 minutes.
  • 6 Once browned, remove from the oven and let cool.
  • 7 In the meantime, whip the powdered sugar with the syrup.
  • 8 Cover the donuts in this glaze and let solidify for a few minutes.

I finally decided to try to make donuts. This is one of those desserts I never dared to prepare because I thought it was a difficult task. Now that I have a good recipe, I'll probably never purchase donuts again! If you have kids at home, involve them in the preparation. The delicious aroma of the donuts might just be the best part of the whole process. Be sure to make a good amount, because the aroma might get everyone excited to eat more than one. Give them a try. As soon as you give these a taste, you'll want to make more!
