Expert Tips

It’s very important to constantly stir the mixtures and let the gelatin dissolve well.

This particular recipe adds the perfect final touch to a good family lunch, especially on weekends. In my family, enjoying a sweet and tasty dessert is a must after a good traditional dish. This is also an excellent alternative when celebrating with friends - full of color, texture and, of course, flavor. I hope you really like it.

I suggest you take out the glass or heat-resistant container only 10 minutes before serving. That way, the texture and flavor of this delicious gelatin is preserved.

For garnish that will surely amaze everyone, I suggest you put some of the gelatin mixture in the glass, without the fruit, and freeze it for two hours. Then add a layer of fruit over the frozen surface and repeat the process to give your recipe layers of color.

Directions

  • 1 To dissolve gelatin, stir 4 envelopes unflavored gelatin and one cup of orange juice. Stir and wait 10 minutes until the mixture is a paste.
  • 2 Place two cups of white wine in a pot over low heat and add the half cup of lemon juice, the half cup of orange juice, brown sugar and lemon and orange peels. Let evaporate and boil for 10 minutes. Remove mixture from heat and set aside for 30 minutes.
  • 3 Now you should put the gelatin and orange juice paste in your microwave in 15 second intervals until you see that the mixture is liquid. Then immediately add it to the pot where you have the wine and other ingredients.
  • 4 In a heat-resistant container or glass, add peaches, cherries, apples and gelatin mixture. Let it cool a bit and then refrigerate for about 3 to 4 hours.
