Ingredients

Cupcakes

  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
  • 3 eggs

Frosting and Decoration

  • 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Fluffy White Frosting
  • Betty Crocker™ red and blue decorating icing
  • 24 blue candy stars
  • Red and blue colored sugars

Directions

    Heat oven to 375°F. Place paper baking cup in each of 24 regular-size muffin cups.

    In large bowl, beat Cupcake ingredients with electric mixer on low speed 30 seconds, then on medium speed 2 minutes, scraping bowl occasionally. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups, filling each about two-thirds full.

    Bake 18 to 22 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from pans to cooling rack. Cool completely, about 30 minutes.

    Frost cupcakes with frosting. Using red and blue icings, decorate to look like fireworks. Add blue stars and colored sugars. Store loosely covered.
