Expert Tips

For a variation of this dish, add other veggies like corn or mushroom.

This recipe is like a lifesaver on those days when there’s not a lot of time to make dinner but you still feel like making something delicious. The best part of all is that you’ll only have one pot to wash and there’s no better feeling! You can add other veggies and adapt this recipe depending on what your family likes.

Directions

  • 1 Heat the oil in a large pot on medium heat. Add onions and pepper, sauté for 3-4 minutes or until the onion is aromatic and translucent. Add garlic and sauté, stirring for about 1 minute.
  • 2 Add pasta, chicken stock and milk to the same pot; mix well. Bring to a boil and cook for 8-10 minutes or until pasta is al dente and most of the liquid has reduced. Add broccoli and cook until broccoli is a little tender, about 2 minutes.
  • 3 Add butter, heavy cream and parmesan cheese; mix well. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the cream thickens a little more.
  • 4 Serve immediately.
