Expert Tips

You can use granulated sugar instead of powdered sugar if you wish.

From time to time, I have friends over that are vegetarians. I like to prepare this little dessert for them. It’s easy to make, does not require a lot of ingredients, and is loved by everyone! The kids can help you make this one, mine love to coat the tortillas in the sugar mixture.

Directions

  • 1 Soften corn tortillas in heated oil, then stack and cut them into eight pieces each.
  • 2 Mix powdered sugar, cinnamon and cocoa in a small paper bag (a lunch bag works well).
  • 3 Cook small pieces of tortilla in the hot oil until crisp, but not brown.
  • 4 Drain and put into the bag and shake to coat with the sugar mixture.
