I’ve learned two things after making these cookies: first and most important of all, they’re delicious! The second thing is that you can serve them for any occasion. All you need to do is use different cookie cutters and you can easily customize this recipe for any celebration. My daughter has an egg allergy and that’s why I made a few adjustments until I achieved the desired texture for these cookies, without the need to use eggs. The result was a total success. My kids loved these cookies! They are very easy to make and you only need 3 ingredients. Give them a try!

Ingredients

  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
  • Royal icing in the colors of your choice, to garnish

Directions

  • 1
Use an electric mixer on medium speed to combine all ingredients. Beat for 3-4 minutes until everything is fully combined.
  • 2
Shape the dough into a disk and place it in between two layers of non-stick parchment paper. Roll out with a rolling pin until the dough is 1/2 thick. Refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  • 3
Remove dough from refrigerator and use a skull-shaped cookie cutter to cut out as many cookies as you can. The amount of cookies will depend on the size of the cookie cutter. Refrigerate the cut pieces for 15 minutes.
  • 4
    Preheat oven to 350 °F.
  • 5
Bake cookies for 8-10 minutes or until the sides are slightly golden. Remove from oven and let cool on the cookie sheet for 10 minutes. Transfer to a cooling rack and let cool completely.
  • 6
Once the cookies have cooled completely, cover them with icing in the colors of your choice, and serve!
