Expert Tips

Use a 12-oz package of bulk pork sausage or 12 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled, instead of the ham, if you like.

The dried chopped onion is easy to use and will soften as it absorbs liquid from the ham and peppers during heating.

Directions

  • 1 Heat oven to 375°F. Grease 13x9-inch (3-quart) glass baking dish or spray with cooking spray. In 10-inch nonstick skillet, cook ham, bell pepper, onion and mushrooms over medium-high heat 3 minutes, stirring frequently, until ham is hot and vegetables are crisp-tender.
  • 2 Coarsely crush cereal; spread 3 cups in baking dish. Sprinkle with ham mixture; top with cheese.
  • 3 In medium bowl, stir Bisquick mix, milk and eggs with fork until well blended. Pour evenly over cheese. Sprinkle with remaining cereal.
  • 4 Bake uncovered 25 to 30 minutes or until knife inserted in center comes out clean.
