“Carajillo for cold weather” is still my dear friend Milena’s favorite phrase. Milena is a lovely Spanish girl who is very familiar with the power of a carajillo, which, according to her, means in Catalan: "Que era guillo,” or “I go fast.” During my days as a student in London, it was Milena who introduced me to this delicious drink: a perfect blend of coffee, rum or brandy, and brown sugar. According to my Catalan friend, there is no snow, rain, cloudy evening or cold weather that could resist the power of a steaming carajillo. As an eternal coffee lover, I consider a carajillo a very good option to end any meal with, but I suggest serving it somewhere other than the dining room. How about in your living room or by the fireplace? This delicious drink will guarantee a good and interesting conversation.
